Video: Ernie Reyes Jr & Taimak Break Boards at Alamo Drafthouse Dallas Last Dragon 30th Screening

Thanks to my friend & big time Last Dragon fan Majid Afayee for tracking this video down and to rileyc515 for posting it on YouTube.

In the 6 minute video above you will see Taimak (Bruce Leroy in The Last Dragon) at the request of the moderator punch a board in half. This happens before a sold out 30th Anniversary screening of The Last Dragon at The Dallas/Fort Worth Alamo Drafthouse. The board is held by his Last Dragon co-star Ernie Reyes Jr.

Ernie made his acting debut in The Last Dragon and later went on to star in movies such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, Surf Ninjas and The Rundown.

In the video Taimak says that he hasn’t broken a board in about 30 years since his teacher at the time, martial arts legend Ron Van Clief, said this sort of thing was a bad idea. Not wanting to disappoint the packed theatre, Taimak obliges the request, while the fans chant “Leroy! Leroy! Leroy!”

Ernie Reyes also re-acts the hand shake he did with Johnny Yu (Glen Eaton) in the film.

Taimak is currently on The Last Dragon’s 30th Anniversary Celebration Tour. You can keep up with all of his appearances from his website: iamtaimak.com and his Facebook Fan Page: Taimak’s Fan Page, Twitter: @iamtaimak or Instagram: @iamtaimak

  1. Lol wow, what a small world. Nearly 10yrs ago I helped Majid Afayee find the song “Give me your love”. Anyway, if you see this comment, it’s me. Glad to see the fans from the old last dragon fan site.

  2. Hey! Thanks bro! It’s Majid, and I do remember the kind gesture you did all those years ago. I even sent it to a few people and met a good friend of mine through that song. I do thank you again, and hope all is well!

    1. Hey no problem! I’m glad to have helped. Look at the progress that has been made with The Last Dragon since then! These are truly good times.
