The best stories will be included in the article which will be posted on The Last Dragon Tribute Site. Hopefully you have never tried to catch a bullet in your Teeth but let’s hear about how maybe you named your dog Sho’nuff, or how you fall asleep every night watching The Last Dragon, how you once tried to catch an arrow in mid flight like Bruce Leroy, how you wanted to be part of Laura Charles‘ 7th Heaven Cloud Crowd or how you have been practicing “the art of fighting without knowing how to fight” like Johnny Yu. We need You, The Fans of Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon, to make this article great! For more information check out Clarke’s post on the Martial Arts Entertainment Blog CatchesBulletsWithHisTeeth.

  1. Without the last dragon, I wouldn’t be alive, nor who I am today. The movie taught me that it’s ok to be black and “different”, and that everything I need to be a great person is already inside myself.

    Greatest movie ever made imho.

  2. I have most of this movie committed to memory..I bought myself the dvd for my 20th bday (I’m now 30). If my brother were in a bad mood, I’d recite a line or two to make him laugh, and vice versa. The Last Dragon introduced me to DeBarge, who is now one of my favorite groups of all time. It still makes me smile & laugh…my favorite movie ever…

  3. Man this movie brought me to like karate movies even more. I love, love, love this movie. Like Krystal I got the movie back in the day when I was 13 on vhs(yes I’m old) and I got it again on DVD when I was 28(I’m 36 now). Me and my kids love, watching this movie (14 and 11) all the time. We watch it at least 3-4 times a year,(me more of course). It brings us closer together. The movie is kinda timeless!!!

    1. Great story Leeyah, love how you are bringing it to the next generation! Isn’t it great how kids today still love this movie? The Last Dragon is so 80’s, but you are right, somehow it is still timeless!!

  4. I was in 8th grade when this movie came out. It just struck a cord in me and in the friends I had at the time. I STILL love this movie. I have the soundtrack as well. Bought the LP/record of it in the 1980s too – in West Berlin, if you can believe it or not…

We took a trip to Europe one summer, and I came across it in a record storm there. Had to get it. Now, I have the MP3s.

But, the movie was just awesome. Johnny was my favorite character. I always wondered what happened to the actor – never knew until I stumbled upon this webpage by accident today. Great to finally know a little more.

I have also seen Julius Carry in many things over the years. Even watched him in an 80’s movie – World Gone Wild” not too long after The Last Dragon came out. Anyway – I had no idea he had passed away. Very sad.

Also, always wondered why Taimak never became a huge action movie actor. That would have been cool.

Anyway, I enjoyed looking thru your website, and I love to see this movie anytime I see it on some tv channel (also have the DVD too). When my 5 year old gets older, he will sit and watch this movie with me – hahaha!

    1. Hi Jason, so glad you found the site. You are exactly the reason I created a site like this. I used to look around for these types of answers too- couldn’t find much… so I just took it into my own hands… Thanks for sharing your story. It will be submitted for the article. Keep in touch with all we do on Twitter (@TheLastGlow) & Facebook ( The Fan Tribute to The Last Dragon)

  6. The Last Dragon was always and will always be my favorite movie….In loving memory of Mr. Leo O’Brien,” What good is that kung-fu jive if you can’t even use it COWARD….. Now won’t you go somewhere and meditate on that ” lol
